Desire, longing, spoken and unspoken words. Each of us has experienced such an un/fulfilled love. Let’s meet together in the beautiful SARP Garden at the Foksal Gallery and put on paper our feelings—for our current beloveds, for hetero crushes, for the girls we pass by every day in the office hallway, or for those we once shared a school bench with.

We want to explore the power of writing letters together and try to capture every aspect of lesbian desire.

The letters will be yours! You can send them out into the world, burn them, or tuck them away in a drawer for a later time.

We will also share the touching story of Virginia Woolf and Vita Sackville-West’s relationship and dive into the intensely lesbian contexts of Orlando. For inspiration, we’ll read some of the most exciting excerpts from their "Love Letters".

It will be romantic and cozy—we’ll lie together on blankets and have a little picnic. We’ll prepare some snacks for you, with coffee and drinks, but feel free to bring something for yourself too! We’ll also provide all the necessary stationery and pens. Come join us in sharing and celebrating lesbian sentiments!

DWIE MARIE – a new initiative by Monika Jarosińska, Julia Łasak, Aleksandra Kuśnierkiewicz, and Małgorzata Kopeć, based in Warsaw, aimed at promoting culture created by lesbian and bisexual women. We organize artistic events as well as performance and happening actions.
